Bridges

A dental bridge is a false tooth or teeth used to replace a missing tooth. The false tooth is attached to two crowns which are bonded onto the teeth bordering the bridge. Bridges are permanent and cannot be removed like dentures can. They can be used to reduce the risk of gum disease, help correct some bite issues and even improve your speech. After being cemented to the supporting teeth, fixed bridges can last over 10 years.

To create the proper bridge for you, we will first take X-rays and impressions of the area requiring treatment. Preoperative photographs will help make sure your specific needs are met with the ideal bridge. While we are forming your permanent bridge, we will fit you with a temporary bridge to begin easing pain and getting your mouth used to the false teeth.

Bridges can be used for naturally appearing restoration anywhere in the mouth – even on front teeth. A consultation with Dr. Vinson will decide whether a traditional, cantilever or resin-bonded bridge is right for you.
